Curtis Island off the central coast of Queensland, Australia, is 50 km south east of Rockhampton, and 475 km northwest of the capital, Brisbane.
It is a short ferry ride from the large town of Gladstone which lies on the shores of Port Curtis - Queensland's busiest harbour. It is the site of major industries and home to the world's largest alumina plant.
